We use technical and physical means to ensure that the personal information you provide to us remains private and secure. We will offer you choices about the way you are contacted and will be clear and transparent about how we will use your information. We will make sure that the reason is lawful. We adhere to a principle of data minimization. This means we only hold data about you which is enough for our purpose, nothing more. We work to make sure the data we hold is accurate and up to date and we only  hold personal data as long as necessary.

Collection of Information

Personal Information” is information that is personally identifiable to you.

Personal Information that we collect directly from you includes information such as name, address, telephone number, credit card number and other contact information. When you visit our website, you  may also provide Personal Information to us when you use certain features of our site, such as registering with us, filling out a form, connecting through a social feed, responding to questionnaires, signing up to be a member, volunteer or as a financial contributor.

We only use your Personal Information to communicate with you about the Takach Campaign and its activities, as well as to provide you with news and information. We do not sell your personal information to anyone under any circumstances.

  • keep you informed about issues, events and developments on the Takach Campaign  by sending you newsletters, emails, Tweets and alerts to provide you with information you request or we think may interest you. We also use this information to  respond to your emails, questions, comments, and other request

  • connect you with other supporters, and to solicit volunteers, donations and support and otherwise help manage the Takach Campaign

  • request feedback and to contact you about your use of the site, or to contact you if other information is necessary under election laws;

  • monitor and analyze site usage and trends, and to personalize and improve the site and our users’ experiences on the site and with the Takach Campaign, and to enhance your online experience, including the ease and speed of navigation to help you find the information you need

The information you provide when you make a contribution to the Takach Campaign, other than your credit card information and telephone number, will be communicated to Elections Canada in accordance with the Canada Elections Act. Once your online contribution has been fully processed, your credit card information will be destroyed.

We use third parties to handle some of our services on our behalf and these organizations may receive process or handle some of your Personal Information.  We provide only the information that is necessary and these organizations are only allowed to use your personal information may only use the information for the specific purposes of delivering services to the Takach Campaign. The Takach Campaign does not ask for personal information about children under 14 years of age nor does it knowingly collect information from children under 14 years of age. This privacy policy is in effect as of November 29th 2012. If the Takach Campaign revises its privacy practices, changes to this privacy policy will be posted on the Takach Campaign website.
